Oh, Yeah…

So I remembered that I had my own website. And then I remembered that I paid, like twelve dollars to register this domain name. Which, granted, probably isn’t a lot of money to most people, but when you’re a freelance writer, that shit actually matters.

And thus, I have returned.

So originally I wanted this page to be a compendium of whatever I felt like putting up, be it cartoons, or writing, or music. But seeing as how writing has more or less become my job (I’m a film critic for the website Cinapse. Now, you’re probably thinking that this would be a perfect opportunity for me to go ahead and link to the articles I’ve written for them, and you’d be right. But fuck it, I’ll do it later), generally speaking, writing is no longer a thing I feel like doing when people aren’t paying me. Or, in the case of Cinapse, gifting me with free Blu-Rays and ego-feeding praise, which is almost as valuable as money to me, even though it can’t be used to buy Slim Jims, which is such bullshit.

Also, I realized a Tumblr would have been smarter for cartoon stuff. Silly me.

So I’ve got a new plan to get a return on my investment: I’m starting a new series of short essays (200-500 words) where I try to learn something new by reading Wikipedia articles. This serves a double purpose, forcing me to write outside of my assignments, and also helping me to be more interesting at all those parties that I’m never invited to anyway.

The nice thing about having your own webpage is that you can end a post whenever you feel like it.
