Scott Fellows was on Mars, and this seemed strange to him.
What was even stranger to him was that he was re-living the exact same story, to boot.
Except, obviously, this time it was on Mars.
It was only a couple of years ago that he had, against all odds, won the heart of Emily Van Hurst. This, despite the interference of her snobbish, controlling father and her calculating, unfaithful would-be fiancee Brett Vetterville.
Not only that, but he had finally overcome his fear of failure and applied himself, becoming a champion skee ball player, winning a grand tournament and using the prize money to send Emily’s foster brother to Space Camp instead of buying that cherry red Ferrari he’d had his eye on for years.
This was real, genuine growth!
But now he’s on Mars.
Things didn’t work out between him and Emily; he fell back into old habits and all the life-affirming progress he had made almost seems to never have happened at all. And even though deep down he knew they were incompatible, something spurred him into action, as if he had no choice but to makes things work with Emily.
Maybe it was her new boyfriend, student astronaut Brad Pattinson III, who seemed vaguely familiar somehow…
Whatever the case was, Scott was undeniably on the red planet Mars. And with the help of his best friend Stu (who looked and sounded completely different, but still claimed to be the exact same guy), he was going to get her back.
And also, fight off the alien invasion.
Which, again, seemed like a really weird turn for his life to take…
